Overview and History
Bailey Hall is the residence hall on the St. Paul campus. Named for Clyde
Harold Bailey, former dean of the College of Agriculture, the hall was built
in 1959 with additions completed in 1981. Bailey can accomodate 505 guests in double rooms, limited
singles, or four-person suites (suites have separate bedrooms with a shared
living area).
One of the special aspects of Bailey Hall is Rock Bottom, a community and
social space with a dance floor, sound system, large screen TV, kitchen, and
a lounge space. A variety of activities are held in Rock Bottom including Café
Bailey, karoke, movie nights, sports parties, dances, and other fun social activities.
Bailey Hall has recently updated the main lounge area in the building. The Upper
Lounge provides a fabulous space for individual studying or group projects,
as well as a social space with a big screen TV with cable. The Lower Lounge
has games including pool, air hockey
and a foosball tables. The Lower Lounge has a full kitchen and vending services.
